Marine Domain Awareness Knowledge Marine Domain Awareness Knowledge Having true and timely information about everything on, under, related to, adjacent to, or bordering a sea, ocean, or other navigable waterway. This includes all related activities, infrastructure, shipping, vessels, cartography, and natural phenomena. Vessel of Concern Knowledge Vessel of Concern Knowledge An understanding of the Oceans Protection Plan mandate concerning the management of wrecked and abandoned vessels, inclusive of the plan aimed to protect Canada's marine environment.	1 Position Level: 1 Fundamental Awareness (Common knowledge or an understanding of basic techniques and concepts) Basic knowledge of the Vessels of Concern Program area and how it is a part of the Oceans Protection Plan (OPP) mandate, based on training.
Warehousing Knowledge Warehousing Knowledge Knowledge of the process of planning, implementing, and controlling procedures for the efficient and effective transportation and storage of goods, facilities, or personnel.	3 Position Level: 3 Intermediate (Able to successfully complete the necessary tasks in this competency. Some assistance may still be needed but can usually perform the task independently) Practical knowledge of purchasing, transportation, inventory, and warehousing. Knowledge of the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work. Knowledge of controlling inventory levels determined by conducting physical counts and reconciling with data storage systems.

Procures quotes from catalogues and suppliers, obtains price quotations and prepares purchase orders. Calculates the cost of orders and charges or transfers invoices to the appropriate accounts. Processes purchases within the limits of purchasing power. Prepares and manages purchase files, reports and price lists.
Workforce Management (HR) for Supervisors/Managers Workforce Management (HR) for Supervisors/Managers Manages unit or units workforce planning, recruitment, organizational design, classification issues, training and development, employment equity, official languages issues, performance management/labour relations, compensation issues, and rewards/recognition items.	1 Position Level: 1 Fundamental Awareness (Common knowledge or an understanding of basic techniques and concepts) Identifies irregular workforce management practices. Seeks advice when workforce management issues arise.
Financial Management for Supervisors/Managers Financial Management for Supervisors/Managers Applies the rules, policies, regulations, and procedures of the Financial Administration Act as they apply to the Canadian Coast Guard as well as the organization's financial assets and management procedures (including related procurement rules) such as: financial authority level and approval process, financial accounting procedures, public accountability, budgeting, projecting, monitoring, reporting, financial auditing, etc.	1 Position Level: 1 Fundamental Awareness (Common knowledge or an understanding of basic techniques and concepts) Prepares and processes bills, invoices, accounts payable and receivable. Enters data into financial tracking systems according to established procedures.
Adult Teaching Adult Teaching Teaching or instructing adults in systematic and sustained self-educating activities so that they may gain new forms of knowledge, skills, attitudes, or values.
