Atlantic: The Atlantic Region consists of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador, minus the Nunatsiavut region in Labrador.
Western: The Western Region consists of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Yukon, minus the Yukon slope.
Arctic: The Arctic Region is inclusive of the Yukon North slope, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Nunavik, Nunatsiavut, and Hudson and James Bay. This boundary is inclusive of Inuit Nunangat.
Central: The Central Region consists of Ontario and Quebec, minus the Nunavik region in northern Quebec.

Organizational Knowledge Organizational Knowledge Knowledge of the Canadian Coast Guard organization, its partners, and relationships with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) and other internal and external stakeholders.	2 Position Level: 2 Novice (A level of experience has been obtained; may need help when performing a task/skill) Understands the duties of the CCG and the roles and responsibilities of key contacts in the CCG’s regional organization. Has a good understanding of certain programs and assets.

Procurement and Purchasing Procurement and Purchasing Ability to manage the process of selecting suppliers, establishing terms of payment, implementing strategic validation, making selections, negotiating contracts and purchasing goods.	3 Position Level: 3 Intermediate (Able to successfully complete the necessary tasks in this competency. Some assistance may still be needed but can usually perform the task independently) Purchases general and specialized equipment, materials, land or access rights, or commercial services for use or further processing by the CCG. Assesses client needs and develops specifications for equipment, materials and supplies to be purchased. Issues calls for tenders, consults suppliers and reviews quotes. Determines or negotiates contract terms and conditions, awards contracts to suppliers or recommends contract awards. Prepares and/or manages documents to procure goods and/or services contracts, including Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and/or Requests for Quotation (RFQs).
Support Services Support Services Provides a high standard of service to Canadian Coast Guard members and other stakeholders.	3 Position Level: 3 Intermediate (Able to successfully complete the necessary tasks in this competency. Some assistance may still be needed but can usually perform the task independently) Applies due diligence and sound judgment when responding to requests and dealing with confidential information. Quickly and effectively solves client’s problems including complaints. Serves Coast Guard clients with the understanding that service is a core principle of the organization.
Operations and Maintenance Operations and Maintenance Performs general labourer duties, building, vessel and grounds maintenance tasks, and transports materials and equipment.	4 Position Level: 4 Advanced (Performs the actions associated with this skill without assistance. Able to provide assistance to other colleagues when questions arise regarding this skill) Performs risk assessment of all assigned projects and maintains risk management protocols at all times. Performs inspections and keeps maintenance records. Operates and maintains power and hand tools, and trains others.
Forklift Operations Forklift Operations Operates various classes of counterbalance forklift trucks in a manner that protects both operator safety and the safety of others in the workplace.	5 Position Level: 5 Expert (Provides guidance, troubleshoot, and answer questions related to this area of expertise and the field where the skill is used) Supervises operational checks, loading protocols, stacking practices, confined space maneuvering, and maintenance efforts to ensure accuracy and safety. Provides training and scheduling for new forklift operators.
