Atlantic: The Atlantic Region consists of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador, minus the Nunatsiavut region in Labrador.
Western: The Western Region consists of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Yukon, minus the Yukon slope.
Arctic: The Arctic Region is inclusive of the Yukon North slope, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Nunavik, Nunatsiavut, and Hudson and James Bay. This boundary is inclusive of Inuit Nunangat.

Program Knowledge and Application Program Knowledge and Application Knowledge of the programs the Canadian Coast Guard manages and supports. Understands the services and delivery of program mandates: Search and Rescue (SAR), Icebreaking (IB), Aids to Navigation (AtoN), Environmental Response (ER), Conservation and Protection (DFO C&P), Oceanography (DFO Science) and Fisheries Research (DFO Science).	2 Position Level: 2 Novice (A level of experience has been obtained; may need help when performing a task/skill) Limited knowledge of the Coast Guard's functions and the roles and responsibilities of key Coast Guard contacts within a regional organizational setting. Understands some programs and assets well.

Operates equipment to collect, store, transmit, and interpret data relating to the marine environment or the atmosphere.	4 Position Level: 4 Advanced (Performs the actions associated with this skill without assistance. Able to provide assistance to other colleagues when questions arise regarding this skill) Provides the full range of observation and reporting services of local phenomena of all types. Develops and delivers training for lightkeepers. Predicts area weather and sea conditions based on past patterns.
Operate and Maintain Lighthouse (LI) Equipment Operate and Maintain Lighthouse (LI) Equipment Manages the full spectrum of lighthouse equipment operation and maintenance under the department's responsibility.	4 Position Level: 4 Advanced (Performs the actions associated with this skill without assistance. Able to provide assistance to other colleagues when questions arise regarding this skill) Operates and maintains all lighthouse equipment. Trains assistant lightkeepers in equipment operation and maintenance.
