Some assistance may still be needed but can usually perform the task independently) Practical knowledge of signs and symptoms that warrant further examination, ordering diagnostic tests, treating acute and chronic illnesses, managing medications, and managing general health care and disease prevention. Understanding of how drugs work, their sides effects and possible drug interactions. Knowledge of diseases that are caused by immune system dysfunction. Understands the interaction of nutrients related to food intake, absorption, assimilation, biosynthesis, catabolism, and excretion. Experience in providing primary and preventative care.
